The Client and Challenge
With 1.6Billion in revenues, Bose is a leading producer of high quality home, automotive and professional audio systems. They have an ecommerce initiative to sell products on the internet. They needed a solution provider to build an online shopping portal that could handle extremely high volume traffic while still providing a good shopping experience to the users.
They selected Inkriti for their proven expertise in delivering high transactional e-business systems on-time and on-budget.
The Inkriti Solution
This solution (www.bose.com) was designed as a fully J2EE based application to do the following:
- Accept customer orders through the website.
- Manage the entire back-end process for setting up promotions and managing orders.
- Integrate with SAP and Siebel backends

Specifically, the system was required to handle over 10,000 concurrent users. To ensure good customer shopping experience, the system response had to be within ten to fifteen milliseconds. The Inkriti solution successfully delivers under these stringent needs.
The Results
The solution was provided to the client on-time and on-budget. The online shopping website has been operational and delivered significant results for the customer:
- Has handled up to 8000 concurrent users
- Has successfully transacted over a $1 million in a day
